As the child grows, these changes may become more noticeable.

- One shoulder appearing higher than the other

Although the Cobb angles are identical, their risk profiles may be very different.

These questions can help parents better understand not only what the curve looks like today, but also what may happen as the child continues to grow.
What Parents Can Monitor at Home
Parents don’t need to become scoliosis specialists, but they can pay attention to their child’s development.
Keep track of height periodically, especially during puberty. Notice whether pants, sleeves and shoes suddenly seem too small.
You can also periodically look at your child’s posture from behind.
Are the shoulders level?
Does one shoulder blade appear more prominent?
Does one side of the waist look different?
Are the hips level?

Not every treatment is appropriate for every child.

Don’t Wait for Scoliosis to Become Obvious
